I participate in the BlueCross BlueShield PPO Network only. I do not participate in the BlueCross BlueShield HMO network (BlueChoice).
In addition, if you have another PPO Policy (Cigna, United Behavioral Health, Aetna, Mamsi, etc.), my services are likely covered as well.
To find out more information about your particular policy, you may want to check with your insurance provider regarding your “outpatient mental health benefits”. Specific questions to ask are the following:
1) Do I need preauthorization before the initial meeting or at any time during treatment? If so, how do I go about obtaining that?
2) What is my copay or coinsurance (amount you pay per session)?
3) Do I have a deductible (an amount you pay before insurance begins reimbursements)?
3) Are there any limits to the number of sessions per year? If so, what is the limit and when does it begin again?
